UCLA Health took its employer brand to the next level with a career website that offered candidates a personalized, seamless experience and enhanced job descriptions.

The Challenge

Up against low unemployment and the hyper-competitive LA market, UCLA faces the critical need to hire quality talent – particularly for hard-to-fill clinical roles, such as specialty nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. This is compounded by the perception that healthcare organizations only hire doctors and nurses. In reality, UCLA’s most critical

needs are non-clinical roles such as technology and IT positions that require UCLA to compete with leading technology companies for the best talent as well as Silicon Valley companies and startups outside of the healthcare industry.

The Solution

UCLA Health needed to redefine its talent acquisition efforts, while whittling down candidates for clinical and non-clinical roles. The organization partnered with Symphony Talent to take its employer brand to the next level, learning to consistently communicate its message across all channels, starting on its career website. Now powered by Google Cloud Talent Solution, the site delivers Google’s world-class search experience for jobs, quickly and accurately offering up right-fit jobs to right-fit candidates. With its career website overhauled to offer a personalized, seamless candidate experience, the organization can better compete with companies inside, and outside, of the healthcare industry. Now, enhanced job descriptions give candidates information they need upfront, and dynamic, image and video-rich blog content showcases the organization’s vibrant culture, employees and patient-centric focus. With CRM functionality in place, UCLA Health is free to build and nurture its talent pool, including with its “white glove” sub physician site.
